The Oleh Hadash discount: an exclusive benefit

This benefit, known as the Oleh Hadash discount, is a right granted by the State of Israel. 
It allows new immigrants to pay a reduced tax rate of 80% instead of 128%, resulting in a net savings of approximately 8% to 18%, depending on the vehicle.

Validity Period

This tax reduction is valid for the first three years following your Aliyah.

The exact amount depends on the brand, model, and type of energy.
Please note that fully electric vehicles are not yet eligible for the Oleh Hadash discount. 

Resale Conditions and Restrictions

You cannot sell your vehicle before four years, except in the following cases: 

  • If the buyer is also an eligible Oleh Hadash.
  • If you repay the tax difference proportionally to the remaining period.

Driver’s License and Equivalencies in Israel
